Allison and Justin | Great Marsh Estate Engagement Photographer
One of the things I LOVE about photography is getting to meet new people. Especially when they are human beings like Allison and Justin. First off, their outfits during our photoshoot were incredible (look how gorgeous they are). Secondly, they are such a fun, sweet, AWESOME couple. Our night was a little bit chilly but they were such TROUPERS, even towards the end of the session when I wanted to sneak a couple extra because of the sunset we got.
Allison and Justin met when Allison had to get her car towed last year (super romantic, right?) and they instantly bonded. Afterwards, both found out that they had mutual friends. I am going to share more after their wedding, but it's definitely a story you need to stay in tuned for. The Lord has worked in such incredible ways in bringing them together and in their relationship.
When I asked what their favorite memory is together, Allison mentioned a past beach trip they went on. The beach trip is where Allison and Justin first "clicked" so it was a pretty special occasion. She even sent me this wonderful story:
Being with Justin has taught me a number of things about life. Our time together has also given me a lifetime full of memories and treasured experiences that I hope to never forget. Justin truly is a once in a lifetime type of guy, my prince charming, my knight is shining armor. Its such an amazing feeling when you finally find the person that understands you better than you understand yourself, and fills voids in your life you never knew you had until you've been made complete. Justin and I met July 7, 2017. We both had some mutual friends that had planned to go down to Colonial Beach for the night to play on the beach and listen to live music. I was just getting out of a relationship and had sworn off all guys. My best friend had convinced that everybody was aware of my desire to be left alone, so I decided to tag along. My friend and I pulled up to Justins house that evening to meet and ride down together and out jumps Justin from his truck. He was very talkative and friendly, not just to me but to everybody, nice guy. The ride down to Colonial Beach was fun, we all listened to music with the windows down and laughed, very carefree. We all ate dinner on the beach and talked and played corn hole together. I am not sure why, but Justin and I always found our way back together and ended up talking. I tried my hardest to keep my distance, pick at him some, act uninterested so maybe he'd get the idea I meant what I said about swearing off all guys. I even hit him in the head with the volleyball, nothing. It was like he was drawn to me, so I started to let my guard down. Needless to say, Justin and I ended up slow dancing under the stars that night while the live band played. We laughed until we cried, talked about life, told stories about where we came from and where we wanted to be. I have never been able to be so honest with somebody, especially just hours after meeting him. When I got dropped off that night at my house Justin walked me to the door, a common courtesy forgotten by most guys these days. Justin has always blown me away with his "old school" style in courting me; his grandfather would be proud. (I've heard many stories about his grandfather). Anyways, Justin and I have been inseparable ever since that night in July. I find humor in being proven absolutely wrong in our story. God has known my heart and desires for a number of years and has made me wait for Justin. When I least expected it, God delivered. Justin and I have an amazingly strong and powerful relationship together and with God. He continues to work in us every day through our life, and helps guide and lead us through difficult situations. I pray that more people can see and experience the power of God, not just in ways Justin and I have seen him work, but in all ways.
I am PUMPED for their wedding in September. BRING IT ON!!
